The “Greppone Mazzi” estate in the Montalcino area has been part of the Ruffino estates since 1984. Its vineyards extend for over thirteen hectares on the Greppi, the highest area of the Brunello production area at five hundred meters above sea level. The alcoholic fermentation takes place in vats at a controlled temperature, followed by maceration on the skins with frequent pumping over and délestage. After malolactic fermentation and tank refinement, the wine is decanted into oak barrels.
Intense and deep ruby red color, with garnet shades that become more accentuated with ageing. Complex nose, of dog rose, vegetal and pastry sensations, with notes of light spiciness, cinchona and citrus fruits. Rigorous and elegant, thick sip; very long ending.
Roast or stewed meats, lamb and game.
