Calatroni

Calatroni is part of the wine-producing excellence within the Oltrepò Pavese area. The brothers Cristian and Stefano grow and transform the native Barbera and Croatina grapes, as well as the international varieties Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, which have a consolidated tradition of sparkling wine production.

The History

The family has deep peasant roots and began farming on its own land in the 1960s. The identity turning point came with the brothers Cristian and Stefano, both with a curriculum of studies in viticulture, who were able to rewrite the family tradition in a modern key.

Terroir & Winery

The splendid hills of the Oltrepò Pavese host the 15 hectares of the estate; the cultivation is traditional, carried out with the utmost respect for the natural environment, and the winemaking is simple and linear, aimed at preserving and enhancing the raw material. The production is made up of two lines, one for refermentation in the bottle (Calatroni Metodo Classico), the other for traditional wines (Mon Carul).
