The History
In 2005, Marco Sferlazzo founded Porta del Vento, a winery that he has combined with his professional career. He chose one of the most interesting areas for viticulture in Sicily. The winery philosophy is centered on the production of authentic wines that reflect the terroir. Particular attention was paid to the integration of a winery in a wild and uncontaminated environment to create a sustainable ecosystem that enhances the biodiversity and complexity of the extraordinary rural landscape.
Terroir & Winery
The winery operates in an artisanal and sustainable way in this pristine place. The vineyards follow biodynamic principles, with sulphur, copper, horn silica and natural essences, aiming for authentic wines, far from industrialization and chemical additives. In the winery, fermentations are spontaneous, using only indigenous yeasts in concrete, terracotta or large oak barrels.
