The History
Historic family of farmers, since 1949 the Scala family has dedicated itself to viticulture in the Crotone area. It was Luigi Scala who concentrated the winery’s work on wine, with the Cirò denomination at the center of production. Today his son Francesco takes care of the commercial side and of enhancing the family name and production beyond regional and national borders.
Terroir & Winery
The vineyards cover an area of approximately fifteen hectares, on medium-textured clay and sand soils. On the vines planted as espaliers and saplings, mainly local grapes grow, such as Gaglioppo, Nerello, Magliocco and Greco. A small area is also dedicated to a champion of international varieties: Chardonnay.
