Alberto Giacobbe, third generation of winemakers, cultivates 10 hectares of vineyards 60 km south-east of Rome in the small historical area of ​​Cesanese, between the provinces of Frosinone and Rome and between the two denominations Cesanese di Olevano Doc and Cesanese del Piglio Docg.

The products of Alberto Giacobbe

The History

Giacobbe Leopoldo purchased a small plot of land at the top of the San Giovenale hill in 1939, in an optimal position for growing vines, thus starting the family business. His son Alino will carry on the estate, extending it to its current size. In 2006, thanks to his son Alberto, the bottling activity began and in 2008 Alberto took over the entire estate.

Terroir & Winery

Alberto grows the native Cesanese d’Affile and Passerina del Frusinate varieties at around 300m above sea level, in soils of volcanic origin, respecting the territory by not using herbicides and chemical fertilisers. When deemed appropriate, the practice of green manure is adopted, and interventions in the winery are limited to what is strictly necessary.
