The History
In 1962, Egidio Corradi, a visionary international broker of Poliziano origins, founded the winery after acquiring two small, semi-abandoned farms in Cervognano, Montepulciano. Subsequently, his daughter Paola and her husband Ippolito De Ferrari transformed the business, planting new vineyards, building a new winery and renovating the old stables. Today, the third generation, represented by Luca and Nicolò, continues to manage the estate with the same dedication as their predecessors.
Terroir & Winery
The vineyards, located at approximately 300 meters above sea level, are mainly cultivated with the local variety Prugnolo Gentile, the local name for Sangiovese Grosso. They grow on alluvial soils rich in sand and gravel and benefit from the Mediterranean and breezy climate of the area. In the winery, we mainly follow a traditional approach, although some modern technologies are used. Fermentations mainly take place in truncated cone-shaped wooden vats with long macerations, while aging takes place in tonneaus or large oak barrels.
