Carlo Noro
The winery, which has become a reference in Italy for biodynamic preparations, is located in the municipalities of Piglio and Labico. In Piglio, home of the Cesanese and Roman viticulture, there are vineyards and olive groves, nourished by volcanic and calcareous soils and protected by the curtain of Mount Scalambra. Labico has always been the winery headquarters, with four hectares dedicated to vegetables, preparations and experimental greenhouses. The winery is also located here.

The products of Carlo Noro
The History
Carlo’s family owned a small farm in Piglio and in addition to olive trees and wheat, they also cultivated vineyards for small family production. Fate then led them to move to Tuscany and the young Carlo dedicated himself to graphic art and, fresh from studies in the sector, opened a printing shop in Rome; he was later hired by a bank for which he worked for 20 years. In the meantime, he began to become increasingly interested in biodynamic practice, until in 1996 he left his job to move to Labico and put the many years of study and practice of biodynamics to good use.
Terroir & Winery
The vineyards are located in Piglio and are divided into many plots, in order to enhance the variability of the ecosystem in each individual plot; these are ancient vineyards, worked and reinvigorated with grassing and green manure, as well as naturally with Carlo’s biodynamic preparations. The grapes are processed in the winery, at the winery in Labico, with the only concession of very low sulphitation; for the rest only mastery and passion.
