The Gatti farm has been family-owned for more than a century and is located in Ponte di Piave, on the hills of Conegliano Valdobbiadene. He takes care of five hectares of vineyards plus a small plot of land cultivated with corn, for farmyard animals and livestock; everything takes place in the family: Carolina is a winemaker, her father Lorenzo is a winemaker, her brother Lino is an agronomist and her mother Renata takes care of the animals and the vegetable garden.

The products of Carolina Gatti
The History
Carolina was born in 1976 and at the age of 14 she enrolled in the wine school of Conegliano, where she first became a wine technician, then an oenologist with a thesis on Raboso Piave. She produces wine between Friuli and Veneto in a scholastic way, then, not happy, she decides to make wine in Ecuador and Peru, relying on instinct. At a certain point in his life he decides to get involved and proposes to his father to collaborate in the family business; since January 2012 she has been the actual manager in the winery, with her father as her right hand and her brother as her left hand.
Terroir & Winery
The vineyards are treated exclusively with the classic Bordeaux mixture or with copper salts and sulphur, without herbicides or synthetic products; maximum naturalness reigns in the winery, fermentations are spontaneous, with indigenous yeasts from the grape skins; the work takes place in concrete, with the use of numerous replacements; the wines are not filtered or centrifuged and clarification is achieved only through decanting and aeration; mild filtration with bag at bottling, and minimal doses of sulphites. Only the best batches are bottled.
