Casa Emma is a 28 hectare winery located in the heart of Chianti Classico. The estate has been the property of the Bucalossi family since 1969, when it was purchased by Fiorella Lepri, of tenacious peasant tradition, from a Florentine noblewoman: Emma Bizzarri. Hence the name “Casa Emma”.

The History
It was a Friday morning, September 26, 1969, when Fiorella Lepri picked up the phone and called the owners of the abandoned farm to buy it. She bought it without her husband and family knowing: “They’ll understand…” – she said to herself. Since that time, his wines have been tasted and praised around the world.
Terroir & Winery
The territory surrounding the estate is characterized by peculiar climatic conditions, influenced by its proximity to the sea and the lack of natural obstacles. The valley that hosts the winery has an amphitheater morphology, creating a unique microclimate compared to the other sub-areas of the Chianti Classico. This natural feature results in less rainfall than surrounding areas.
