Graves Rouge “Callypige” Grand Vin de Bordeaux 2016
31,30 €
Mentioned in the Feret guide of 1850, the Chateau de Respide is among the oldest wine chateaus in the Graves area. The Bonnet family practices thoughtful agriculture to minimize the environmental impact in the vineyard and winery.
The Château was originally owned by Monsieur de la Reynie, King Louis XIV’s police lieutenant. The current castle was built in the mid-19th century by Ernest Pascal, prefect of Bordeaux and uncle of the painter Toulouse-Lautrec. In 1952 Pierre Bonnet took over the management and today his son Franck manages the vineyards and the estate.
The Graves denomination directly recalls this terroir. The term comes from “graviers” (gravels), the so-called Bordeaux gravels, alluvial stones transported by the Garonne river and deposited on its banks millions of years ago. Rooted in the heart of the Bordeaux vineyards, in the midst of uncontaminated nature, the estate draws its strength from the diversity of its terroirs, however united by the great richness and minerality typical of the denomination
