Margaux Rouge Grand Vin de Bourdeaux Grand Crù Classè en 1855 2016
93,20 €
For generations, the Sénéclauze family with dedication and passion has preserved and revitalized this magnificent Chateau in Margaux. History, tradition and taste come together in a single experience, creating truly extraordinary wine labels.
Located in the heart of Margaux, among the vineyards classified as Grand Cru Classé since 1855, the story begins in 1762 when Miss Ledoux d’Emplet married François Peguilhan Marquis de Terme, bringing the castle and the estate as her dowry. In 1935, Pierre Sénéclauze became the owner of the castle, starting the family’s history.
In the 40 hectares of vineyards the most representative grapes of this region are found: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The vines are grown on a mixed soil of gravel, sand and limestone (the name “Margaux” derives from the Gallic term “margan”, which means “marl”) and can root up to 5 meters deep.
