The History
The estate land was purchased in 1947 by his maternal great-grandfather; out of the total of 20 hectares only half a hectare was under vines, but in 1976 Filippo’s father, the current owner, decided to redevelop the estate in a wine-growing perspective, increasing the vineyard surface area and selling the cultivated grapes. Since 2019, Filippo has firmly taken the reins of this small estate, starting to vinify his own harvest and market his own wines.
Terroir & Winery
The vineyard area has been increased over time to reach the current 9 hectares: Procanico, Sangiovese, Ansonica and Aleatico are the first varieties planted, to which Vermentino, Viognier and Syrah were then added. The sea shapes an ideal microclimate for viticulture with mild temperatures in winter, scarcity of rain in summer, providential benefit of the winds. The sandy, medium-textured clayey soils, rich in skeleton, are capable of retaining rainfall and at the same time draining it in case of excess, giving life to the microelements that the vine will feed on.
