Tenuta Ciacci Piccolomini d’Aragona is located in the south-eastern part of the municipality of Montalcino, not far from the medieval village of Castelnuovo dell’Abate and the ancient abbey of S. Antimo. The estate preserves its historical heritage in a palace built in the 17th century by the Bishop of Montalcino and Abbot of the Abbey of S. Antimo, Fabius de’ Vecchis.

The History
In 1985, with the extinction of the Ciacci Piccolomini d’Aragona family, the property was bequeathed to Giuseppe Bianchini, manager of the estate for years, who introduced an innovative philosophy, increasing production and quality of the wines and opening up to the international market. After his passing in February 2004, his children Paolo and Lucia continued his work.
Terroir & Winery
The spurred cordon vineyards, facing south, are located in the heart of the Val d’Orcia Park, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The soil is mainly made up of marl, of medium texture and of Eocene origin, located on hills between 200 and 360 meters above sea level.
