The History
The history of viticulture in the De Vigili family dates back to the early nineteenth century, when Ottavio was already marking the wine barrels with his initials. The winemaking activity then stopped after the First World War, but the viticulture activity continued; It will be in 2015 that Francesco, just twenty-three years old, will decide to revive the business, with five hectares of vineyards and a few bottles produced.
Terroir & Winery
The Teroldego vineyards are located in the historical and original area of the vine, the Teroldeghe, an area of glacial and alluvial origin, characterized by the presence of granitic sediments (Tonalite). Chardonnay is instead grown in the Sorni di Lavis, a highly limestone area, once home to a chalk quarry, and the grapes for the production of the Classic Method come from the highest vineyards, at 750m above sea level. Francesco practices natural agriculture and winemaking, giving maximum expression to the territory and its vines.
