Domaine J-M Berrux

Jean-Marie, originally from Savoy, embarked on a career in advertising which led him to live and work in Paris for several years. However, his great passion for wine pushed him to radically change his life in 1999: he left his job and enrolled at the University of Beaune, where he obtained a degree in oenology. After his studies, he began to gain experience with various winemakers and, with a bit of luck, managed to acquire one and a half hectares of old Chardonnay vines in Meursault and the surrounding areas. Inspired by his uncle, an organic farmer, and by meetings with producers who share his philosophy, Jean-Marie chooses to adopt a natural approach; its vineyards are cultivated following the principles of biodynamics and in the winery it uses only indigenous yeasts and limits the addition of sulphites to the bare minimum, exclusively at the time of bottling.
