Domaine Matassa

Domaine Matassa has been a point of reference in France for artisanal wines since the 2000s; founded in 2002 by Tom Lubbe, a New Zealander of origin, raised in South Africa and then a winemaker in France, together with his wife and consultant winemaker Sam Harrop. The Domaine is made up of small plots of old vines between 40 and 120 years old, immersed in the Mediterranean scrub; Tom’s goal is to ensure that his vineyards achieve health and well-being thanks to the richness of biodiversity: all the winery’s vineyards are grassed to encourage the spontaneous presence of plants, bacteria and yeasts that guarantee vital balance. In the winery the fermentations are spontaneous and there is no invasive intervention at any stage.
