The products of Encry
The History
Enrico was a naturalistic engineer specialized in environmental restoration, who over the years was specifically interested in safeguarding vineyards. It is precisely at a conference in Tuscany, where Enrico presents his work, that he meets Jean Michel Turgy, vigneron in Champagne, with whom Enrico and Nadia will enter into partnership. They will be entrusted with 3 of the 12 hectares that Jean Michel owns in Le Mesnil sur Oger and Maison Encry will be born.
Terroir & Winery
The vineyard is located on the top of the hills west of the village of Le Mesnil sur Oger, the famous Grand Cru of Champagne. The privileged position offers natural protection to the vines from spring frosts thanks to a drier microclimate compared to flat areas. This condition limits the spread of mold and mildew, allowing minimal use of verdigris. No chemical pesticides used and natural grassing between the rows.
