The products of Fatalone
The History
The winery brand derives from Filippo Petrera, a second generation winemaker, known as “Il Fatalone” or “Il Sedotto”. In 1987, the winery became the first to vinify and bottle Primitivo in purity and in 1993 it also introduced Greco, a noble variety of white grape, which has since then been alongside Primitivo in family production.
Terroir & Winery
The Primitivo and Greco vineyards are located at 370 meters on the Spinomarino hill and enjoy a favorable temperature range. The limestone rock soil, of marine origin, is mainly responsible for the beautiful flavor and minerality of the wines. The management of the vines occurs naturally, as does the winemaking in the winery, where no filtration is used and the use of sulfur dioxide is reduced to a minimum.
