In the town of San Marzano Oliveto, in the Asti area, the Mondos are a family of winemakers who have been appreciated for generations. Their lands cover approximately twelve hectares of vineyards, with 60% dedicated to Barbera. Valerio, a winemaker, supervises the vineyards and winemaking at the family farm, while his father Franco, an expert winemaker, takes care of the vineyards. The winery maintains an artisanal and family character.

The History
Since its inception in 1945, the Mondo family has managed this small but precious winery with dedication, located in the heart of the most renowned area for the cultivation of Barbera, namely Nizza Monferrato. Valerio, son of the founder Franco, is an expert oenologist who takes care of the vinification of the wines, assisted by his promising daughter Beatrice. In the meantime, Franco continues to work with skill and competence in the vineyards.
Terroir & Winery
Nizza represents a marked association between the Barbera grape variety and the historical territory that is particularly suited to it, acting as an ambassador of a rich tradition made up of people, history and culture. Nizza wine is obtained exclusively from 100% Barbera grapes grown in a limited area that embraces 18 municipalities surrounding Nizza Monferrato, which also includes San Marzano Oliveto.
