Gatto is a historical name of Piedmontese wine. It is a family business, which has managed to preserve the traditional face handed down from one generation to the next. The winery is located in the Asti area, to be precise in the hilly area of Castagnole Monferrato and manages a total of around twenty hectares.

The History
The Gatto Agricultural winery was founded in the early 1900s in the province of Asti, Piedmont. After three generations, today the winery is in the hands of Pierfrancesco Gatto who officially joined it in 1993, immediately deciding to focus on the quality and historical varieties of Barbera and Grignolino.
Terroir & Winery
Gatto Pierfrancesco’s farm is located in an area known since the Middle Ages for its wine production. The hilly morphology of the area creates an optimal environment for the development of vineyards, benefiting from a mild climate. In these ideal conditions, the Ruchè vine found its habitat, imported into these lands by Cistercian monks from Burgundy.
