Gibadda

Luigi has been the owner of the Trattoria Anzolo Raffaele in Venice for many years together with his wife Patricia; However, he was born and raised in Arbus, in the south of Sardinia, and the call of his land was felt in 2014, when he and Patricia purchased and renovated an ancient, semi-abandoned vineyard in his hometown. In the following years, other vineyards were added, up to today’s 4 hectares of vineyards.

The products of Gibadda

Terroir & Winery

Gibadda has 4 hectares of vineyards divided into three bodies and exposed North-South and East-West. The vines are found at 400m above sea level, on granitic weathering soils, trained with saplings and guyots. The work in the vineyard is extremely natural, with the only use, if necessary, of copper and sulfur to protect against diseases; steel containers are used for winemaking, and French oak barriques for aging. Since 2021, part of the production has been allocated to a red and a white wine processed entirely in amphora: from spontaneous fermentation in an open amphora, to long maceration on the skins, to refinement on the noble lees.
