Hughes Beguet

The Hughes Beguet winery is located in Mesnay, a small village near Arbois, in the heart of Planches-près-Arbois. Founded in 2009, it was born from the choice of Patrice Béguet, winemaker, to abandon the frenzy of Parisian life to return to his rural roots together with his wife Caroline Hughes. The couple purchased 4.5 hectares of vineyards within the Arbois appellation, located at over 300 meters above sea level, including the prestigious slope of Les Corvées, one of the most renowned in the area. Patrice adopts a biodynamic approach in managing the vineyards, where he has planted wild flowers, legumes and cereals between the rows of Savagnin and Ploussard to promote biodiversity. Furthermore, during the winter, an ancient breed of Alpine sheep is left to graze among the vines, contributing naturally to the fertility of the soil. In the winery, Patrice works with the utmost respect for the grapes, using exclusively indigenous yeasts for fermentation and without adding sulphites for most of the wines.
