The History
Rado Kocjancic continues the rich history and traditions of his family dating back to the forefather Ivan, who in 1866, after fighting as an Austro-Hungarian soldier in the Battle of Custoza, returned home and founded the agricultural winery in Dolina. Since 1999, Rado has continued this precious legacy with the support of his family, making a turning point in 2014 with the total conversion to a completely natural regime.
Terroir & Winery
The vineyards are positioned on the last sandstone-marble hill close to the Gulf of Trieste, with the Karst behind, where the salty air is accompanied by the Bora wind; sea and wind help preserve the vines, naturally reducing fungi and diseases. The work is carried out exclusively with natural products that stimulate the fertility of the soil. The same principles are carried forward in the winery, where the interventions are minimally invasive or even absent.
