The products of La Crotta Di Vegneron
The History
The La Crotta di Vegneron Cooperative was founded in 1980 by around 25 members. It is a story that has at its center men deeply linked to this splendid Alpine region. La Crotta di Vegneron continues the millenary tradition of “campagnards”, placing the ancient link between native vines and territory at the heart of its production. Currently, the number of members exceeds 50, and their vineyards cover 25 hectares.
Terroir & Winery
The soils of the Aosta Valley are predominantly of morainic origin, with a main composition of sand (80%) and a smaller quantity of silt, containing a maximum of 10% clay. These soils are sub-alkaline and poor in depth, with a good presence of skeleton. Winds, typically gusty, blow regularly from March to October, significantly reducing air humidity. During the summer, the wide temperature variations between day and night shape the aromatic profiles of the grapes in a unique way.
