The History
After ten years dedicated to studies and consultancy in the wine sector in the province of Siena, in 1994 Nadia Betti and Renato Spanu, together with two lifelong friends, created La Lastra; the main objective is to produce high quality wines, sustainable from an ecological point of view and which fully express the distinctive characteristics of the territory in which they are grown.
Terroir & Winery
La Lastra operates on two distinct plots: 7 hectares of vineyards in San Gimignano and 23 hectares (7 of vineyards and 16 of olive groves) near the historic center of Siena. Always organically managed, the winery vinifies the red grapes in the ancient Marciano winery, while the Vernaccia grapes are vinified in San Gimignano, according to the production regulations.
