Le Macchiole is located in Tuscany, in Bolgheri, on the Etruscan Coast, where ancient hills of woods, vines and olive trees meet the Tyrrhenian Sea.
Born in the 1980s, Le Macchiole is an iconic reality of Bolgheri, renowned in the world of high quality Tuscan wine. Eugenio Campolmi and Cinzia Merli, pioneers of the area, gave life to this project, anticipating the style of the area. Their commitment both in the vineyard and in the winery, creating wines of great caliber, has contributed to the fame of Bolgheri. Today, Cinzia leads the winery with the fundamental contribution of her sons Elia and Mattia, together with a team of close-knit collaborators.
The 35 hectares of current vineyards, located in different areas of the denomination, are like pieces of a mosaic that make up an extraordinary overall picture. These parcels have different characteristics that contribute unique nuances and host the different varieties of grapes grown. This material is the source from which to draw to create the distinctive Le Macchiole style at each harvest.
