Brut “Secolo Novo” Millesimato Franciacorta DOCG 2013
42,10 €
Le Marchesine, an innovative winery from Franciacorta, is today one of the most prestigious and rapidly developing companies in the denomination. Le Marchesine’s constant pursuit of excellence has been rewarded over time with numerous awards.
In 1985, Giovanni Biatta, the initiator of the production of Le Marchesine, acquired the first three hectares of land in the Franciacorta region. However, the family had cultivated the same great passion for wine excellence for at least five generations. Descended from a family of very ancient Brescian origins, documented as far back as 1196, Giovanni’s great-grandfather, Camillo Biatta, was a negociant eleveur, a noble and ancient profession that was handed down from father to son up to Giovanni.
The various vineyards are registered in the Doc and Docg denominations, located in various municipalities of Franciacorta. Most of the vines are grown in Guyot, with a density of 4,000-4,500 vines per hectare, while some are grown in Sylvoz, with a slightly lower density of 3,200 vines. Le Marchesine has always stood out for an innovative approach to agriculture, starting with the abandonment of the pergola system after Giovanni’s purchase of the vineyards and the adoption of advanced techniques from beyond the Alps.
