The History
Werner Morandell founded the Lieselehof winery in 1993, in search of quality and sustainability. He finds the ideal geographical and climatic conditions in the unique “Kardatsch” site, under the steep Mendola mountains, and decides to build the winery there. 30 years later the second generation with the twin sons Julian and Maximilian continues to work at Lieselehof.
Terroir & Winery
If the use of chemistry has always been disdained in the estate, the turning point came in the early 2000s by planting and focusing heavily on naturally resistant varieties, which thrive proudly even in extreme conditions and without the need for treatments: from the Bronner grown at 450m above sea level Lake Caldaro, up to Solaris at 1250m above sea level on the Mendola Pass, among coniferous forests and rocks.
