Bourgogne Rouge AOC Régionale 2019
71,50 €
Nakada Koji’s success is the result of over twenty years of commitment and is not due to fashions or trends, but to its ability to combine modernity and precision in a traditional territory, where innovations are not exactly the order of the day. It is not at all easy for a non-Burgundian native, let alone a Japanese-Korean couple, to create a domaine in Gevrey Chambertin. The three Japanese characters that appear on the label together represent the idea of terroir: sky, earth and man.
Driven by a passion for Burgundy and a desire to realize his dream as a vigneron, Japanese sommelier Koji Nakada left his hometown of Okayama in 1996. He moved to Beaune to study oenology at the renowned CFPPA. During his studies he met Jae Hwa Park, a Korean expatriate, with whom he married and, after some experiences in small wineries in Champagne and Alsace, in 2000 he founded Maison Lou Duomont, an artisanal domaine in Gevrey -Chambertin.
The activity in the vineyard follows the principles of Biodynamics and is always carried out by Koji and close collaborators. The harvest and vinification are the result of an almost obsessive attention to detail and rigor, which lead the wines to be identifying, profound, millimetric in their precision. Extreme craftsmanship that gives the wines extreme elegance. The level of production reaches very high peaks and over the years has come to be recognized by international critics as one of the most interesting in all of Burgundy.
