“Maixei” is a dialect expression from western Liguria which indicates the traditional dry stone walls that support the terraces of agricultural land on the slopes of Liguria. In addition to being the name of the winery, it is also the symbol of the heroic viticulture that has always distinguished those lands.

The products of Maixei
The History
In the early 1980s, several small wineries in Liguria, producers of Rossese di Dolceacqua, decided to join forces to preserve and consolidate their businesses. In 1985 they met in the Cooperative winery, affiliated to the Riviera dei Fiori Floriculturists Cooperative, which has members spread across the territories of 14 municipalities. In just a few years, the production of Rossese di Dolceacqua had a notable qualitative boost, obtaining important recognition in the wine sector and in 2007 the winery gave life to the Maixei brand, which today has over thirty members.
Terroir & Winery
The grapes that arrive in the winery are constantly ripe, in optimal health conditions and permeated by the unique aromas that the Mediterranean scrub, the lean soils and the distinctive climate of Liguria can confer. The passionate winemaker carefully works to transform this raw material into a wine that can capture all the emotions of this extraordinary land. The common philosophy provides that the must transformation processes are minimal and essential to guarantee the authenticity and quality of the product.
