The products of Marino Lanzini
The History
Marino’s family has always grown cereals, fruit and vegetables and of course vines on their land. The parents also owned (and still do today) a farmhouse in Ponte di Valtellina and it was the grandfather who took care of the vineyard and produced the wine that was served in the restaurant. After his grandfather passed away, Marino, fresh from his studies in agriculture, decided to follow his roots, renovating the winery in the historic center of Ponte and starting the Marino Lanzini agricultural winery in 2015.
Terroir & Winery
To date, he cultivates approximately two hectares of vineyards, located on the Rhaetian side of the middle Valtellina, overlooking the valley floor. The work on the steep terraces in Nebbiolo (Chiavennasca in those parts) is expert, careful and minimally invasive. The same goes for the processes in the winery, done with craftsmanship and common sense. The skilful use of local oak and chestnut completes the work.
