The History
For over 60 years, Marco Curto and his wife Adele have cultivated four hectares of vineyard on the Arborina hill. Starting in the 2000s, their daughter Nadia, after experiences in another field, decided to continue her parents’ careful and meticulous work, taking over the leadership of the winery and giving it a new direction. Nadia’s work is extremely identifying and the result of a dual teaching: on the one hand the traditional approach of her father Marco, on the other the modernist approach of her uncle Elio Altare, Adele’s brother, a symbol of the revolutionary “Barolo Boys”. Nadia takes inspiration and knowledge from both, thus building her very personal path.
Terroir & Winery
The Arborina cru is absolutely peculiar within the La Morra territory; in fact, the hill is made unique by the emergence of layers dating back to much more ancestral geological eras than the rest of the surrounding area. Nadia Curto rejects any sort of invasive practice in the vineyard, and in the winery the craftsmanship and naturalness of the processes are the guidelines of her work.
