The History
A great experimenter and at the same time conservative to the nth degree, Luigi Oddero has always been attentive to technical innovations without ever forgetting his family history that began in the 19th century with his grandparents, already producers and traders of wine. Over the years he loves to experiment with the inclusion of international vines and small barrels for refinement, but his main path will remain firm on Nebbiolo, accompanied by other native varieties, and traditional large barrels for refining his Barolos. After Luigi’s passing in 2010, we find his wife Lena and his children Maria and Giovanni at the helm, whose names recall their grandparents, those who began the centuries-old history of the winery.
Terroir & Winery
The production of Barolo is concentrated in some of the most important crus of the entire area: Rive in Santa Maria di La Morra, Scarrone in Castiglione Falletto, Vigna Rionda in Serralunga d’Alba. The Barbera, Dolcetto and Freisa vineyards are mainly located in La Morra.
