The History
The Podere Palazzone was identified in Orvieto by Monaldo Monaldeschi della Cervara, historian of a noble family from Orvieto, with the one built in 1299 by Cardinal Teodorico, on the occasion of the first Jubilee, as a hospitality for pilgrims. In 1969, the Dubini Locatellis purchased the estate and restored the ancient farmhouse near the Rocca, replanted the vineyards, built new winerys with modern equipment and expanded the property to the current 25 hectares of vineyards.
Terroir & Winery
The hectares of vineyards are made up of small, even very small, areas, each with peculiar characteristics that are enhanced with precision. The vines are planted on hills between 210 and 340 meters above sea level, exposed to the East and East/Northeast depending on the slopes, on soils of sedimentary and clayey origin.
