Located in the Valley of the Lakes, between Trento and Lake Garda, Santa Messere represents a border that unites: here the Mediterranean and continental climates meet, with Mediterranean and Alpine plants that coexist, creating a unique territory. In this small village, where the tradition of viticulture and distillation has been passed down for generations, is the farm and distillery of Francesco and Alessandro Poli.

The History

Alessandro Poli, following in the footsteps of his father Francesco, continues to carry on the legacy of knowledge and traditions in Santa Messere, the place where it all began. With him, there are his children Massimiliano, Elisa and Federico, and his wife Alberta. The winery’s core values ​​are anchored in the past but also represent the future. For 50 years, the Poli family has been producing grappa and wine with a spirit and passion that have been handed down from generation to generation.

Terroir & Winery

With Nosiola, the only native Trentino white grape variety, an ancient vineyard was replanted in the Sottovi area, on the hills above Lake Santa Messere. In the vineyards around the town, red grape varieties are grown, Schiava, Rebo, Lagrein and Cabernet Sauvignon. A few years ago in the locality of Naran, 550 meters at the foot of Monte Gazza, Bronner and Solaris were planted, naturally resistant vines which do not require any pesticide treatment.
