Quinta da Palmirinha

Once a history teacher, Fernando Paiva was among the first to introduce biodynamics to Portugal. He obtained organic certification right from the start, in 2001, and shortly after approached the Steiner principles, completing the conversion in 2007. He personally manages the three and a half hectares of vineyard inherited from his parents, located between Bouça Chã and Amarante. The winery is located near Lixa, in the north-west of Portugal, within the same district as Porto and the renowned Douro valley, cradle of some of the country’s most famous wines.
