The ancient Via Appia, which connected Rome to the conquered territories of Southern Italy, crossed the Ager Falernus where the Romans obtained the most prized wine of antiquity: Falerno. Right here, at the foot of Monte Massiccio, stands the Regina Viarum organic estate.

The History
In 1996 Elda and Pasquale together with their children Amalia and Francesco gave new life to the historic estate founded by their grandfather in the early years of the twentieth century, when they decided to register the family vineyards in the DOC Falerno del Massiccio Primitivo, vineyards that their grandfather had always cultivated, allocating its production to the sale of bulk wine.
Terroir & Winery
The volcanic soils of calcareous composition, with the presence of stones, alternate areas of gray tuff towards the ridge of the mountain, with clay banks further down the valley. It is managed organically, certified since 2008, with organic fertilization and the use of green manure. In the winery, amphora winemaking marks a stylistic continuity belonging to the territory for 2000 years.
