Overlooking the Ligurian Riviera, next to the Bishop’s Castle of Spotorno, the Sancio agricultural estate produces, from six hectares of vineyards, 4 native varieties of the Ligurian tradition: Pigato, Rossese, Vermentino and Lumassina.
The estate began with the first Pigato vines planted by father Mario in the 1960s, when he called the estate Cappellania, naming it after the place where he began cultivating the vineyard. In 1995 the new 300m2 winery was built and the equipment for winemaking was implemented. Since 2000 the estate has become Sancho Azienda Agricola and has expanded to its current six hectares, and now Riccardo, Mario’s son, is in charge of the estate entirely.
The six hectares that make up the estate surface are all overlooking the sea and organized in terraces with dry stone walls; the vineyards are located in different areas: Spotorno, Vezzi San Giorgio, Orco Feglino, Finale Ligure and Celle Ligure.
