The History

The winery began in 1999, when Massimo Piccin purchased the first ten hectares with an adjoining farmhouse in Lo Scopaio, in Castagneto Carducci, creating the Podere. Since then, the winery has recorded significant growth, extending to forty hectares in total, of which twenty-five are cultivated with vineyards, divided between the Bolgheri DOC area and the Bibbonese area.

Terroir & Winery

The vineyards grow on soils rich in clay, sand and pebbles, exposed to the south-west and cultivated according to organic principles. Massimo has always had a strong passion for wine and the desire to produce high quality wine. To be freed from regulations that did not reflect his philosophy, since 2015 his Rosso Superiore Sapaio has left the Bolgheri Doc, to become IGT.
