Barolo “Del Comune di Serralunga d'Alba” DOCG 2017
33,70 €
The name of the winery originates from the history of the place. In past centuries, the farmhouse and the attached vineyards were owned by the Opera Pia Barolo and the work in the countryside was entrusted to sharecroppers, who were called “slavery”.
The winery was founded in 1956 by the brothers Vittorio and Ugo Alessandria in the municipality of Serralunga d’Alba. Today, his son-in-law Luciano Pira, agronomist and winery master, passionately carries forward the traditional production of the great Piedmontese red wines, first and foremost Barolo.
Luciano Pira is an indisputable talent in the world of Barolo. The Nebbiolo grown on these chosen lands takes on unique and exhilarating shapes in his hands, in wines with disarming precision and richness. The winery owns approximately ten hectares of vineyards, part of which is located on important crus such as Broglio, Prapò and Cerretta.
