The History

The estate was purchased in 1933 by Alessandro Mottura, a Piedmontese civil engineer. At just 21 years old Sergio Mottura moved from Turin to start managing the estate and his love for Grechetto blossomed straight away; 1990 will be the first year of bottling and the following year the estate will begin the process of converting to organic. Already a pioneer of local viticulture in the Seventies, Sergio is today recognized as one of the best exponents of Grechetto production.

Terroir & Winery

The vineyards are part of the 120 hectares of property which include olive groves, woods, meadows and cereal fields. The nearby Lake Bolsena bears witness to the volcanic origins of the land, an unmistakable mark of the wines of these lands.
