Sextant – Julien Altaber

Growing up in southern Burgundy, Julien Altaber spent his childhood summers with his family, behind the cows or on tractors; the peasant path is marked and after his studies, at 16 years old comes his first internship with his first winemaking; after various fieldwork in the Maconnais and Beaujolais and a training period in Beaune, he returned to the small family estate, dedicating himself to organic farming; with the 2002 harvest Dominique Derain definitively rediscovered the peasant spirit of his origins and the biodynamic practices that he would adopt in his work. Healthy grapes without chemicals and natural winemaking with as little intervention as possible. Part of the production is made from grapes purchased from producers who share the same philosophy.
