The products of Tenuta Luce
The History
Born in the nineties from the collaboration between Frescobaldi and Mondavi, Tenuta Luce has always produced a single successful Supertuscan in Montalcino. In 2003, with the transfer of the Mondavi possessions to Constellation, the project became entirely the property of the Frescobaldis. For years the wine has been an offshoot of the Castelgiocondo estate, parallel to the Frescobaldi brand production. Then, in 2017, there was the definitive separation of Tenuta Luce, with the construction of a special winery.
Terroir & Winery
The plots of Tenuta Luce extend from 200 to 430 meters above sea level. The international varieties grow on mixed clay soils in the lower areas, while Sangiovese is grown on sandy-schist soils in the higher areas. The altitude and southern exposure allow for slow and complete maturation of the grapes, thus giving life to wines of great concentration and strength. The cool, breezy nights help preserve the aromatic complexity of the grapes.
