Tenuta Macchiarola

Tenuta Macchiarola is a small artisan business located in Lizzano, in the province of Taranto. Founded in the mid-1980s, it was originally dedicated to the cultivation of cereals, vegetables and vines, as well as livestock breeding. In 2007 Domenico Mangione took over the management of the estate and with him was born the desire to produce wine in a natural way with the available Primitivo grapes. His little experience pushes him to proceed through experiments, which along the way enrich him with competence. In 2010, the production of Primitivo was accompanied by that of Negroamaro, while from 2014 white grapes also began to be vinified. All the vineyards are grown without the use of chemical substances and in the winery we work with a minimal approach, without selected yeasts, finings or stabilizers; the result is sincere, genuine and extremely drinkable wines.
