Terra Donata
Terra Donata produces 8000 bottles from approximately 1 hectare of vineyard in Erbusco, selecting the best Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from the various owned plots. The Franciacortas of Terra Donata represent the personal satisfaction and revenge of a boy who wanted to escape the logic of profit as an end in itself, to respect the land that was given to him.

The products of Terra Donata
The History
Once grandfather “Batistì” returned from the war, together with grandmother Giuseppina he took over the agricultural farmhouse that his uncle had left him. His son Giuseppe and his wife Donata founded the farm in 1978; they will expand the vineyards and deliver the grapes to some important companies in the area, as well as producing and selling bulk still wine locally. In 1995 their son Maurizio, at just 15 years old and with the help of his mother Donata, took over the reins of the winery, following the premature death of his father. The curiosity to experiment is strong and in 2004 Maurizio began the first tests to produce his Franciacorta.
Terroir & Winery
Over the years, Maurizio has selected the best micro-plots of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from the various plots he owns, chosen based on soil, exposure and microclimate. Each parcel is vinified separately in small steel barrels and only at the end is the blending carried out, decided from time to time depending on the progress of the vintage. Maximum naturalness and craftsmanship both in the field and in the winery, no clarifications and filtrations, no correction wine products; at the end of the long refermentation in the bottle, disgorgement takes place “a la volèe”, without any topping up or dosing.
