Vino di Anna

Anna Martens and Eric Narioo produced their first wine together on Etna in 2008. In 2010, the couple purchased their first vineyard of old Nerello Mascalese vines in Contrada Crasà, along with a nearby abandoned Etna millstone and a wine winery. Today they organically cultivate eight hectares of terraced land, divided into small plots of vineyards and olive groves scattered on the northern slope of the volcano.

Terroir & Winery

The vineyards are cared for exclusively by hand and cultivated with full respect for nature, without any use of agrochemical products. Only the healthiest and perfectly ripe grapes are harvested manually and transported to the winery. Here the process is as natural as possible: fermentation occurs spontaneously with indigenous yeasts, at room temperature, without the addition of additives. The vinification and aging take place in containers made of lava stone, chestnut wood and French oak, Georgian qvevri, glass and stainless steel. The clarification occurs naturally by gravity, without any filtration. The addition of sulfur dioxide is reduced to a minimum, with zero or imperceptible dosages, used only if strictly necessary to guarantee the stability of the wine.
