Amarone della Valpolicella Classico “Sant’Urbano” DOCG 2017

It comes from the old vineyards of Monte Sant’Urbano, in the municipality of Fumane. Located on a hill at an altitude between 280 and 350m above sea level. The bunches selected and harvested by hand are left to dry for around 100 days, with a drop of around 40%. After this period the grapes are pressed and sent to a long fermentation in contact with the skins. The wine then matures for 24 months in 500 l French oak tonneaux; followed by 18 months in medium-large Slavonian oak barrels. Bottle aging for 12 months.

Intense garnet red in colour, it has an ethereal scent of dried fruit. On the palate it is full-bodied, warm, enveloping, dry. An important wine of rare elegance, it lends itself well to ageing.
