Sarmassa is the historic vineyard and the heart of the winery, it is a particular Cru due to its different exposures and soils. This Barolo is made from five different parcels of Vigna Merenda in the Sarmassa cru, at 300 meters above sea level on clay and limestone soils. Spontaneous fermentation in thermoregulated steel tanks with long maceration on the skins; aging for 30 months in large 25 hl oak barrels and up to 36 months in the bottle.
Garnet red colour; broad nose of undergrowth, eucalyptus, cocoa and rhubarb, with earthy and salty notes. The sip is austere but velvety, of great elegance and persistence.
