100% Lagrein
The vines grow on a scree near the Trodena stream in Villa/Egna at 250 m above sea level. The grapes ferment for a fortnight in contact with the skins in large 25 hl oak barrels with subsequent malolactic fermentation. The wine matures for one year in 500 and 700 litre oak barrels.
Intense, dark ruby red colour; on the nose, intense hints of black fruits and undergrowth, precise and savoury fruit, fine body; also savoury on the palate, with velvety amplitude, soft acidity and important persistence.
Important meat dishes, sausages and mature cheeses.
