In 1974, the first Cru of the estate was born from this plot: Montesodi, which has always been called this way in the area due to the stony nature of the soil. The Montesodi vineyard is located at an altitude of 400 meters above sea level, on shale soils with a magnificent south-west exposure. The Sangiovese coming from the Montesodi vineyard, after careful work in the vineyard, is harvested manually in 15 kg boxes. Further care and selection is placed in the cellar; upon their arrival the grapes are subjected to careful checks on a sorting table. Alcoholic fermentation and maceration follow. Malolactic fermentation occurs immediately after racking. At the end of the year, the traditional maturation\/elevation period of Montesodi begins in 30 hl Austrian and French oak barrels, where it remains for the following 15 months, until bottling.
